Why the “apply online in ten minutes” pages do not apply to most Bangladeshis
Saudi Arabia’s tourist eVisa is run by the Ministry of Tourism through the official portal at visa.visitsaudi.com, and it is genuinely fast for the nationalities on its list. The list is limited. Independent sources describing it consistently put it in the mid-sixties of countries, and consistently exclude Bangladesh.
We could not load the official eligibility list directly to quote it for this article, so we are not going to reproduce a country list from a third party and present it as fact. What we will tell you is the thing that actually protects your money: the portal has an eligibility check, it is free, and it takes less than a minute. Run it with a Bangladeshi passport selected before you pay any agent who tells you the eVisa is your route. If the portal does not offer you a visa, no agent can conjure one from the same system.

- Permanent residency in the US, UK or an EU state is described as qualifying in its own right.
- GCC residency is described as a separate qualifying condition, though sources differ on which residency categories count.
If you have a used US, UK or Schengen visa in your current passport, check this before assuming the embassy route is your only option. It is the single highest-value thing on this page for the people it applies to.

Here is the finding that explains why this search result page looks the way it does.
The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Bangladesh publishes an official site at bd.saudiembassy.sa. Its contact page lists the embassy at House 5 (NE) L, Road 83, Gulshan-2, Dhaka-1212, with phone numbers 0088029858882 and 0088028834056 and the email bdemb@mofa.gov.sa. The site lists a “Consular Section / Visas” department. When we read that page in August 2026, the consular section’s own contact fields and the visa instructions were empty. No document checklist. No fee schedule. No named list of approved agencies.
That is the vacuum every visa agency in Dhaka is filling. It is not evidence that the agencies are dishonest, and for many applicants an embassy-approved agency is the normal and correct channel. It is evidence that you should treat any document list or fee you read online as a secondhand account of a process the embassy has not published, and confirm it by phone or email with the embassy before you hand over your passport.
Two practical consequences:
- Ask any agency to name the embassy approval they hold, and verify it with the embassy directly rather than accepting a logo on a website.
- Get the government fee and the service charge itemized separately, in writing, before you pay. If a quote is a single number, you cannot tell what you are buying.

An Umrah visa is not a general tourist visa, it is issued through the Hajj and Umrah channel, and the eligibility, the agent, the platform and the conditions are all different.
If your trip is primarily a pilgrimage, start at Nusuk, not at the tourism portal. If your trip is AlUla, Jeddah, Riyadh, the Red Sea coast, or family visits, start at the tourism portal or the embassy. Mixing the two channels is the most common way a Bangladeshi applicant ends up in the wrong queue.
