You cannot file a Singapore visa application by yourself from Dhaka, and that is by design, not a scam. Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) requires holders of a Bangladeshi passport to have a visa, and it only accepts applications submitted through a local contact or strategic partner in Singapore, or through an authorized visa agent, or at a Singapore Overseas Mission. The High Commission of the Republic of Singapore in Dhaka states it directly: “Applications must be submitted on-line through one of the High Commission’s Authorised Visa Agents in Dhaka.” The government fee is the taka equivalent of SGD 30 per applicant, excluding the agent’s fee.
So the agent is not an optional convenience layer. They are the submission channel. What you are choosing between is agents, not between an agent and doing it yourself.
What ICA and the High Commission actually publish
Everything in this section comes from ICA’s own Bangladesh visa page and the Singapore High Commission in Dhaka’s visa application page, both checked in August 2026.

The High Commission lists 17 authorized agents in Dhaka, spread across Gulshan 2, Gulshan 1, Banani, Motijheel, Banglamotor, Dhanmondi, Mirpur and Uttara, with addresses and contact details for each. That list, on the High Commission’s own website, is the only list worth using. An agency that is not on it cannot submit your application, whatever its shopfront says.
The three things the ranking pages get wrong
This is the part you will not find on the visa-service pages competing for this search.
1. The two official timelines disagree, and the Dhaka one governs you
ICA’s general Bangladesh page says applications are processed within three working days. The Singapore High Commission in Dhaka says the processing time for complete applications is at least five working days. Both are official. They are not contradicting each other so much as describing different things: ICA is describing its own processing clock, and the High Commission is describing what an applicant filing from Dhaka should actually expect end to end.
Plan against the longer number. Every guide quoting “3 working days” is quoting the more flattering of two official figures, and the mission that handles your file is the one saying five.
2. The Letter of Introduction is the real gate, not the agent
Form V39A, the Letter of Introduction, must come from a local contact in Singapore: a Singapore citizen or permanent resident aged 21 or above, or a registered Singapore entity, or the mission. ICA lists it among the required documents.
This is the requirement that actually stops applications, and it is the one that gets glossed over. If you have no friend, relative or business contact in Singapore, ask your prospective agent, before you pay them, exactly how the Letter of Introduction will be produced for your file and by whom. An agent who is vague about that is being vague about the single document your application cannot proceed without.
3. A visa is not permission to stay for a set number of days
ICA states plainly that “a Singapore entry visa is not an immigration pass.” The visa lets you travel to a Singapore checkpoint and ask to be let in. What decides how long you may stay is the visit pass endorsement an immigration officer gives you at the checkpoint, and the Dhaka High Commission’s page says exactly that: visa validity is not the same as period of stay, and the period granted is shown on the visit pass endorsement in your passport.
Practical consequence: do not book a 30-day itinerary because someone told you the visa is valid for a longer period. Check the endorsement in your passport before you leave the arrival hall, and plan your exit around that date, not around the visa’s validity.
What to expect from the agent, and what to insist on
Since the agent is mandatory, treat choosing one as the main decision:
- Check the name against the High Commission’s published list at dhaka.mfa.gov.sg before anything else.
- Ask for the fee split in writing. The SGD 30 taka equivalent is the government fee. Everything above it is the agent’s charge, and the High Commission’s own wording (“excluding Agent’s Fee”) tells you these are two separate amounts.
- Ask who provides the Letter of Introduction and on what basis.
- Do not hand over an original passport without a receipt that names the agency and lists what was taken.
An honest agent will answer all four without friction. That is most of them. The four questions exist to find the ones who will not.

Note what is not on the official list: no mandatory hotel booking, no mandatory return ticket, no published minimum bank balance. That does not mean showing your travel plans and funds is pointless, since consular officers assess the whole file, but be careful with any agency that presents an invented financial threshold as an official requirement. If a document is not on the mission’s own list, ask why it is being requested.
Before you pay for anything
No one can tell you a Singapore visa application will be approved. The decision is discretionary, it is made on your individual file, and neither the agent nor this page has any part in it. Do not buy non-refundable flights before the e-Visa is issued.
