This page describes how The Travel Tell does — and does not — earn money, so you can read our recommendations knowing exactly where we stand.
Where this site stands
Last updated: 16 August 2026.
Some pages on The Travel Tell may contain affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or go to the retailer directly.
Not every link here is an affiliate link. Many point to sources, manufacturers or documentation, and we earn nothing from those. Where a guide names a brand or model, it is there to explain a feature or a trade-off, not because anyone paid for the mention.
A commission never buys a recommendation. Where a cheaper option, or buying nothing at all, is the right answer, that is what you will read here.
What affiliate links would mean
An affiliate link means that if you click it and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Regulators (such as the U.S. FTC) require this to be disclosed, and we agree with the requirement.
